This blog happened with the help and interest of my spiritual mentor and teacher, HD Goswami (Howard J. Resnick , Ph.D) whom I met in 1994, after years of struggling to understand yoga philosophy. It is not so easy to understand spiritual teachings yet with an excellent teacher, everything becomes easy for the sincere seeker. I am profoundly indebted to HD Goswami for introducing me to Jane Austen and for convincing me to take a swing at exploring her works through writing. This blog is my attempt to ‘pay it forward’.
HD Goswami was trained in this science of spiritual consciousness by his own teacher (guru), His Divine Grace, A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami, who brought these teachings from India. “Krishna West” was created by HD Goswami, in order to make these teachings of Bhagavad-Gita more relevant and accessible to western people.
If anyone is interested in yoga and philosophy, and would like information on how to apply bhakti-yoga practice in their life, please visit HD Goswami’s YouTube channel or Facebook page. Also check out Krishna West London, Germany and Israel. You may also write to me at vars1082@gmail.com.
A Stanford study, “Your Brain On Jane Austen” explains the cognitive benefits of reading her novels. For anyone interested to learn more about Jane Austen and Bhakti-yoga, my mentor, HD Goswami, gave a wonderful talk about Jane Austen, when he visited her hometown of Chawton, UK. (Click here). I also recommend HD Goswami’s, “Excellent lecture on the Philosophy of Yoga” for anyone new to eastern philosophy and yoga.
